In 2016 I volunteered to work for Hanse Golf Design on the Gavea Golf Club, just outside the downtown zone of Rio de Janeiro. The location felt like paradise , wedged between the blue ocean and mountain behind. Originally designed by Stanley Thompson this eccentric and bold golf course climbs the height of the valley and crashes back toward the ocean, a true one of a kind and a golf course we proudly rejuvenated over the course of several seasons.
